Production Update, officially late

Hello everybody,
I have a few good news, but everything is so slow and late that make the good news feel lame.
It was clear from the latest update that I am going to miss the November delivery.
Looking at the calendar and the incoming Christmas shipping-mayhem, I am afraid I will miss the before-Christmas delivery, and I am very sorry for that.
The production status looks like this:

Tuckboxes ready and regular decks being assembled
Today the tuckboxes arrived at Cartamundi, and they started to assemble the decks that do not have gilded edges (Solis and Lunæ regular).
Astra Polaris, LTD Solis and LTD Lunæ are being gilded as we speak and it is taking ages.
Gilding still in production
I talked - again - to the gilding company and they are proceeding after a hic-up with a faulty batch. Fortunately Cartamundi shipped extra decks to tackle these expected cases.
The gilding is made manually, so it takes very long time if thousands of decks have to be gilded.
Books
I wrote 30% done, but it is a guess. Next week I should get a better estimate and I talk to the factory.
Shipping Addresses
No worries if you entered an address that need to be changed. Before fulfillment you all will get a mail asking you to change it or to keep it as it is.

Probably next week I write another update as I should have news about the books. I know everything is proceeding but it is proceeding slow.

Hello!
it did not happen that much since the latest update. Unfortunately there are delays out of my control and I am pretty sure I will miss the delivery in November. On top of that - because covid was not enough - there are supply chain disruptions that are affecting everybody worldwide.
The books and the decks are heavy and need to be shipped by ocean freight.
I know they started because the deposit was paid 20 days ago. They are preparing a blank prototype to make sure all the components can be assembled perfectly. This is an important step that will make the whole production and assembly flawless.
Tuck-boxes and Gilding
Not worried that much about these delays, it is just taking extra time to complete them.
The tuckboxes should be ready and shipped to Cartamundi by the end of next week.
Gilding is in progress, here a shot from the gilding factory. Estimated completion for this process was supposed to be October 20. Let's see.

Odd Fellows live now on Kickstarter
Yesterday Portfolio52 launched this project on Kickstarter and it is going great! Funded in a few minutes and full of releases that will make backers ODD!
This is my design and as you can see it is quite different from The Eye of the Ocean; the concept is about this gang of Odd Fellows promoting their odd concoctions that nobody would like to taste.
To start, meet Uncle Tibia and the Brass Monkey, and later another odd fellow will join the gang with plenty of releases. The campaign is managed by Portfolio52, I am there as collaborator and of course as designer.
That's all for now... I am sorry for these delays, but I hope things will get better at the beginning of november. By then gilding and tuckboxes should be ready and shipped to Cartamundi. And hopefully the books will be printed.

Production Status: some delays

Hi all,
I hoped not to be late this time, but gilding is taking ages because of the number of decks that are gilded by hand (around 7000 units). The tuckboxes are almost ready, but there is a delay of 2 weeks in any case.
Cartamundi was expecting all the material by the 6th of October and planned the assembly at the end of October. Obviously it is not going to happen.
At this point I will get a new schedule when they receive everything: gilded decks and tuckboxes.

Books
I wrote about the delay books in the previous update (proof reading took 3 extra weeks) and it affected the production timeline. The final files and the order was submitted and the 50% deposit was paid. I am waiting for news from the factory.
I know, delays are sad and boring, but we want it well made without production mistakes. right? :)
I can show you the idiot-proof video I made to explain how to assemble the items. What you see are mock-ups, not the final products.

New project: ODD FELLOWS
This one is coming soon on Kickstarter and will be managed by Portfolio52. The design is 100% mine.
The Odd Fellows were supposed to be the United Cardists Annual deck 2021, and it became the Portfolio52 debut deck after the acquisition. P52 acquired UC a few months ago and these 2 communities are being merged.

Hello!
Here is another production status update. We are in a phase where not so much is happening because the long production time and phases that books and decks have to go through.
However, I have some pictures, but before those here is the overview.

Wooden Boxes
Here a few picture with placeholder decks.
Tuck-boxes
In the making, with a little delay because the wildfires in August that slowed down the production capacity, and because the ink takes long to dry. There quite a lot of ink that needs to be dry before the stamping with hotfoil and finally the embossing.
Astra Polaris does not need ink, it be produced this week.

Astrolabe
This video comes directly from the factory shows the astrolabe without finish. It is the production sample in metal. These have been finished with "antique bronze" effect, but I do not have a picture.
The astrolabe is going to be attached on the leather cover.
I am 20 days late. The deadline for the delivery of the final edit was supposed to be the end of August, but the co-authors needed more time to correct the typos and other issues. I agreed with them and let them work on those corrections.
I ordered a prototype via a print-on-demand service to check the layout and if everything looks good. And it does :)
What you see in the following video is a mock-up / prototype with a 3D printed astrolabe in plastic.
The leather cover will have blind embossed graphics that are necessary to solve the puzzle.

Hi all!
welcome to another production update. Everything is proceeding well, a little slower than planned, but we are getting there. I made better visuals to explain how the production is developing and the steps that decks and books have to follow.
The black arrow shows at what point the production is.

Decks
The cards are ready and being gilded as we speak. It will take 2-3 weeks because these are made by hand+machine, not fed into a machine that does the job automatically.
Tuckboxes production has been resumed as planned.
Bookmarks
They are ready and I am signing them. Very happy with the outcome. The paper if beautiful, the letterpress does its job very well.

The layout design has been completed. Even though there are illustrations and sketches in the pages where the texts are written (as showed), I made extra pages with the sketches that are supposed to depict the structures on the Eye of the Ocean.

At the moment it is going through the very final proof-reading and if there are typos they will be corrected very fast. Next step: printing.

Arrived at the fulfillment center, let's put them in a wooden chest and bury them on an island :D

Surveys
Almost everybody completed the survey. It is not possible to add items at this stage because I cannot risk to have more orders than produced items. Pre-order shop was closed a month ago, and surveys are locked. What you can do is only address changes.
I tried to contact the 42 unresponsive backers with countless reminder without luck.
If the survey is not completed it means that I do not have the address, therefore nothing will be shipped.
