Important Update: Fulfillment, Leftover Release, Successor

Hi all!

this is an important update, please read carefully. There are 3  topics that need your attention:

•  1. fulfillment update and fulfillment-related info 
•  2. Release on my shop 1st of June at 5pm CEST
•  3. The Successor 

1. Fulfillment

10 days ago GW completed the fulfillment and all the packages have been shipped. By now all the domestic parcels (USA) have arrived, and part of the international ones (CA-AU-NZ-Asia etc) are in transit with a tracking number that should be  progressing.

100% shipped, no backers left behind with incomplete survey.

UNCUT SHEETS have been shipped separately in a tube with a different tracking number. They should arrive a few days after the main package.

However there always hick-ups and cases that need attention. 

I list the most common cases:

•  CASE 1: You do not have the tracking number. Contact me via kickstarter if you cannot find it. Remember you should have an email from Backerkit or Gamblers Warehouse, or Deallez.
•  CASE 2: Package returned/returning because the address was old, or wrong, or incomplete. Contact me via kickstarter. Be aware that it has to be reshipped, so I have to ask the shipping fee for the 2nd shipping label.
•  CASE 3: any issue with the content. Take pictures and contact me via kickstarter.
•  CASE 4: customs fees for international packages. These are out of my control. If the customs ask you import fees, I am not in the position of solving the problem or refunding the cost to clear the parcel. If the package is rejected and it is returning because fees were not paid, I will issue a refund minus shipping costs for both ways.
•  CASE 5: lost package/huge delay (months). Contact me via Kickstarter, but first contact the postal service of your country. Every country has its own issues (covid, fire, storms, hurricanes, typhoons, war etc). However, the tracking number that you received (starting with GAM......) will be paired with another one provided by the postal service of your country when the package is about to arrive in the country. You find the information on the top right corner of the tracking page, try this link.  See this example: 

•  CASE 6: stolen package. This is a rare case, but it can happen. If this happen unfortunately I cannot reship or refund. If the parcel is marked as delivered and you think it was stolen by porch pirates or neighbours, it becomes an issue that you should address to the local authorities and the insurance.
•  CASE 7: consolidation/forward services. If marked as delivered the responsibility is on the service you are using.
•  CASE 8: none of the above: contact me via kickstarter.

Deadlines for claims

There are some deadlines for the claims:

Any issue with the items: 14 days after delivery date. If you open the decks after 3 months or 3 years and there is a problem, there is no replacement. The delivery date is given by the tracking number.

Undelivered packages: 90 days since shipping out date. It is my responsibility to make sure all the packages are shipped well protected with tracking number, and to follow up in case of problems.  This ends after 90 days. It is the backer responsibility to keep an eye on it, as it happens for every purchase on amazon or any other online store. Often tracking numbers expires after 2 months and they become useless.

These are common practices/policies that we all are used to.

2. Release on my shop, June 1st

The first of June at 5pm CEST (Swedish Time) the leftover will be released on my online shop

All the items and decks will be listed, except the Codex and Quartermaster LTD.

Most of the items are available from both warehouses (Texas and Germany), but in much less quantity at the German warehouse. 

Intrepid will be available from both, plenty of them. Limit to 3 decks/customer.

I managed to add a feature that limits the purchase quantity of specific items. There will be LTD decks in limited supply and these are limited to one per customer. Other items might have the purchase limit to 2, 3, 6, or 12.

I am working on the prices and the quantities, but do not expect kickstarter prices because they have to be aligned with the market (retailers) that pre-ordered decks during the campaign.

EU-Friendly items:

The products shipped from the Germany have a badge saying "shipped from Germany".

If you buy items with this badge you get the package from Germany, therefore EU-friendly.

If you buy items without this badge you get the package from Texas, shipped by GW.

If you buy both kind of products,  you will get 2 packages: one from Germany and one from Texas, therefore higher shipping cost. These cannot be merged in one and of course they do not arrive at the same time.

There are 8 sections and the items are sorted according to type, theme, or both.

• In Playing Cards section you find only decks and mini decks of all projects.
• In The Eye of the Ocean section you find only decks and items from EOTO
• In Odd Fellows section you find odd fellows-related items and decks (decks not yet).
• In Keymaster Tarot only items and decks related to Keymaster Tarot.
• in Accessories: everything but decks.
• in Uncut Sheets: only uncut sheets and uncut tuckbox sheets, or prints.
• in EU-friendly items: all the items (decks and other) shipped from Germany.
• in S17 Auctions: planned public auctions (1st, 3rd, 5th, 7rh of June for now)

3. The Successor is live!

This is a project you cannot miss. Make sure you jump onboard and secure your spot in the best reward tier. The Gentleman Wake worked for more than one year in this epic series, which is now live on Kickstarter with amazing design and epic collector box.

He collaborated with Kevin Cantrell, a designer who worked for Theory11 and who is the author of notorious decks such as Tavern of the Green, Standards, Citizens and many more.

Always keep an eye to your tracking number, often the package cannot be delivered because the size and it has to be picked up at the postal office.

Fulfillment update

To all the backers waiting for the package.

I have news from the Fulfillment Center and they gave me an update about the status. They did not manage to respect the schedule. Everything was supposed to be shipped out on saturday 7th of May, but at the moment there are many packages (around 200!!!!!) still in the making, both domestic and internationally.

I am not able to check which one is in the making and which one is pending.

The 99.7% fulfillment complete  has to be revised, so we are at 90% completed (meaning shipped out, left the fulfillment center). 

Almost all tracking numbers have been created with their label the day you received the notification. 

A half dozen have to be created manually for issues with the entered address (address too long, missing postal code, survey completed too late, or other issues).

Tracking numbers not progressing?

Unfortunately nowadays it is not a clear science. It happens that a package is delivered before the tracking number progresses. I do not know why this happens, I think it is miscommunication or synchronization between DHL Global and USPS.

•  For US backers: if you have a link to DHL Global Mail, be aware that the final part of the delivery is made by USPS with the very same number. In fact you can track it on www.usps.com as well. 
•  For International backers: as always it takes more time to reach the international hub and the transit time is longer. Once the package arrives in your country, you should be able to track it locally. You can try to track it on https://www.aftership.com/track or here https://a1.asendiausa.com/tracking/

Please have some more patience.

Sales of the leftover

A release date will be published once I know that all the packages left the fulfillment center. Considering how slow fulfillment is taking and how long the int. packages take to arrive,  it might be at the end of the month.

• The release date will be posted here on kickstarter, published on my newsletter, and on social media.
• Some items will have a purchase limit of one or two units.
• Intrepid variant will be available with purchase limit as well.

All items are shipped from Texas, unless there is a badge on the product image saying "shipped from Germany".

Inquiries

For inquiries related to US tracking numbers not progressing: please wait a few more days.

For any issue other than "my tracking number is not progressing", please message me only via kickstarter. Please do not write comments, do no use facebook or instagram, or other platforms.

The message via Kickstarter is important because I can see who is who, what is the reward,  the tracking, the content of the package and many other details.

If you think there is something wrong with the content of the package, always take pictures of the label, the carton, and the items. After that, contact me via kickstarter and wait for instructions.

I am keeping contact with the fulfillment center, I hope this will be completed in a couple of days.

QUEST/PUZZLE instructions

Dear backers, It is time to launch the quest! 

You have more than 3 months of time because packages take time to arrive to destination. 

Please read carefully what follows.

Instructions

All you need is this image, but read the whole page because there are a few of FAQs.

What you need

As stated in the campaign, you need the following:

• The complete book with leather cover and attached astrolabe and bookmark
•  Solis deck of cards (any variant)
•  Lunæ deck of cards (any variant)

Also, it useful to have the following:

• Pen and paper (any pen, any paper) for your notes
• I suggest a magnifying glass as a real investigator. The camera zoom of the phone might help as well.
• Patience
• Time
• Powers of observation, and of course passion for puzzles.

Additional info

• Square one: 246 (guess what it means)
• Difficulty: I have no idea
• Hints: none, do not ask
• Winners: 3, with a raffle
• Deadline: August 10, 2022 

Prizes

Goal

Find the position of the Eye of the Ocean

Additional notes/FAQs, read carefully.

• The bookmark is not really necessary, but it can help to keep track of things.
• You do not need to read the whole novel. However, you might find some small hints that help a little.
• Only who reaches the final step will know how to submit the solution.
• If you submit the solution via kickstarter mail then it is not the right one
• If there are no valid entries (=no winners) by August 10, I will move the deadline.
• I have no idea about the difficulty level. For someone it might be a piece of cake, for others extremely frustrating. I really have no clue.
• Every now and then I will post an update saying if and how many reached the goal.
• Do not contact me begging for hints, no hints will be given :)
• Since packages take time to arrive, I have to set the deadline and plan a raffle for those with the correct solution.
• If you solve it, do not share the solution, it will lower your chance of winning.
• Potential participants: approximately 780 (based on the count on kickstarter backer with those items, but not everybody like puzzles.)
• Uncut sheets might be useful and speed up a little a part of the quest.
• You do not need Astra Polaris deck at all.
• Puzzle or Quest? I suppose it is both as it goes through steps. Do not confuse the word puzzle with jigsaw puzzle (as I used to). See this challenge as those puzzles you have to solve to ESCAPE THE ROOM.
• If you do not have all the necessary items and you really want to try, be aware that I will release the leftover on my online shop probably in mid May (date to be communicated).

That's all for now. I really hope it is difficult enough and that I do not get 100 correct answer after 5 minutes.

Another fulfillment update

Hi all,

in the previous update (this one) I explained that having the tracking number does not mean your package has been picked up by the courier.  It means that you have a tracking number and that will  be active when scanned by the courier.

The email from BackerKit gives false information and I cannot change the subject or the content of that email when I send the tracking notification.

Email says: "your items for the Eye of the Ocean have shipped"

Not true.

it means: "here is your tracking number, it will be active when the package is ready and the courier picks it up scanning the label"

Unfortunately this is not Amazon :)

Your tracking number

First of all, check spam/junk folder.

You have now a tracking number that might have this status:

• pending, label created
• label created, not yet in the system
• not found
• other, similar to those above

All of them show no progress. It means that the courier did not pick it up, therefore the tracking number was not scanned, therefore it shows no progress.

It is important that you have this tracking number and when the courier scans it, it means that it will progress. It takes time. 

Sometimes it happens that a backer gets the package before the tracking number appears in the system. This is related to the postal service synchronisation with other platforms.

Uncut sheets

shipped separately in a tube separately. I do not have the list of tracking numbers yet and you will not get another backerkit notification with the tracking number of the tube. It should arrive before or after the main reward.

Fulfillment status 99.7% done

I have 8 backers with "errored fulfillment" that will be processed manually as soon as possible. 

• 3 from Hong Kong for missing postal code, 
• 1 from Armenia for a system glitch,
• 2 from USA, 1 from Canada, 1 from Singapore because they completed the survey too late. 

Quest

later today I post the instructions. 

I anticipate that you have 3 months of time, no need to freak out if you do not have the rewards in your hands yet :)

Quick fulfillment update

Dear backers,

The fulfillment is almost done, and they estimate fulfillment complete in one or two days.

On Backerkit I see 149 backers "in the making", meaning that there is no tracking number yet.

For the others: you might have a tracking number saying "label created" and without any progress. It is ok, because the label is created indeed, but the package might still be in the making.

They are packing carefully because they double-check the items especially for the big ones (better safe than sorry), then they will be handed over the carriers.

Some of the parcels arrived, some are in transit, some are still in the making.

Always check spam/junk folders: the email with the tracking number is send by backerkit (US-based fulfillment).

Once all the packages are ready for shipping (or shipped out), I will finally publish the update with the instructions of the QUEST.

Hold on a little longer, we are almost there!
