Production update: almost there

Hi all!
First of all, happy new year. I hope you had a nice Christmas break.
I do not have so many news, because during Christmas and the new year's eve the factories closed and paused production for roughly 10 days up to 2 weeks.
Here is the overview:

BOOKS
The books are ready and being packed for shipping to fulfillment centers (USA and Germany). Shipping date estimated for January 15th. I haven't got the shipping quote yet, I hope the air freight is not a crazy amount. Crossing fingers.
About the books, here is how it evolved and improved during design and production. The renderings on kickstarter were close enough, but the final product is always much better.
A quick explanation about Mock-up, Prototype, and rendering:
Mock-up: a handmade piece to show more or less how the product looks. The picture of a mock-up can be photo-edited to make it look as close as the final version as possible.
Prototype: a piece very close or same as the final product. Usually it is a functioning prototype, not just a piece showing the look of the product.
Rendering: made with 3D software and/or Photoshop, they are used to show how the product looks. The 3D rendering is fully digital, the Photoshop rendering is an edited picture doing photo-composition and photo-editing.

DECKS
The decks are almost ready, but I do not have an estimated completion date yet.
I just know Cartamundi is about to pack Gilded Solis and Gilded Lunæ. They received the gilded decks right before Christmas and reopened the factory the 4th of January.
SURVEYS
14 unresponsive backers will not get the rewards unless they complete the survey.

A week before fulfillment all the backers will get an email from Backerkit asking to confirm or change the shipping address. Also, I will write an update about that.
QUEST/PUZZLE
Everything is ready, just waiting for the rewards to be shipped out.
Once the fulfillment is complete I will post instructions. For now just be aware that you need the following items:
Book with leather cover and attached astrolabe
Solis or Gilded Solis deck
Lunaæ or Gilded Lunæ deck
Just stay tuned, and remember I will not give hints of any kind :)

Hi all!
Finally the gilding of Lunæ and Solis is complete and the decks have been shipped to Cartamundi.
Before pictures and video here is the production status as always.

It took ages because the foil i picked is not standard (gold or silver) so the gilder struggled a lot and now he hates me... then he changed his mind when I paid 5 minutes after I received their invoice.

These are final, this is what you will get.
I hope you like what you are seeing, I am very pleased with all the aspects of the deck. Great job at Cartamundi with their registration and their B9 slimline, and great Tuckbox printed with greek delays by Oath Playing Card aka Lotrek :)
When I get the printed book I will do a video with that. I just have a blank version at the moment.

Hi all!
Even if everything is late, I have some relatively good news about the production status.
Gilding of Lunae and Solis should be completed on December 16.
The Books should be on their way to the fulfillment centers on January 15.
Before the details, here is the production status:

Gilding
Not much to say, just very late. I talked to the gilding factory and asked explanations of course. The reason of the delay is about the special foil I picked (antique gold, teal, and blue) that is different from the regular gold and silver. They had to do many tries and waste many decks before reaching a good result.
To get an idea of the numbers:
Ordered 4200 Astra Polaris complete decks at Cartamundi
Cartamundi provided to the gilder 5490 ungilded decks.
4560 Astra Polaris returned to Cartamundi with gilding in antique gold.
166 were discarded and trashed by Cartamundi QC (Quality Control).
4394 are good to be packed
another small % will go to waste because of machine/human damage.
Today Cartamundi is shipping to me a few samples of complete decks. Next week I make videos.
Books
The production resumed after the inspection of the production sample on my side. There were a couple of wrong things and I had to prepare a document explaining what was not following my design specifications.
Also, I had to extend the cover size of +17mm because it was too short.
This took some extra time, but it is for the sake of the final product.
What was incorrect? here is the list

Hi all!
First of all happy Thanksgiving to the backers celebrating this festivity, I wish you a great holiday.
Let's jump on this update and go through the latest - and slow -development.
Production Status: the 4 main points

Ungilded decks Solis and Lunæ: They are packed and ready.
Astra Polaris will be assembled next week at Cartamundi.
Gilded Solis and Lunæ are in the making. The gilding is taking ages "just" because the gilder wants to make a perfect job. OK for me, but they could be a little faster.

Books
The production has been paused because I am waiting for the production sample that have to be carefully inspected.
The factory sent me a couple of videos, but it is better to inspect it personally. I will get the sample next week, probably on November 30.
The video shows the embossed graphics on the leather cover: a part is decorative with a Mayan look (on purpose, and a part is functional for the puzzle :)
The book is blank. It is a model for testing the cover, the size, the binding, the cutout, and the paper.
The Astrolabe that you see is not the final one, once I get the book I make the swap. The final one looks like the following picture.
The dippen in the video is blue, but the final one is black.

If everything is fine and the sample is approved, it is just matter of "pushing the button" and print those books and making the covers.
I do no know how long it will take, this information will be given in the next update.
The Delay
Yes, I am late, but the bright side is that I am not shipping under the worst period of the year: Black Friday and Christmas. The book has to be perfect otherwise the puzzle will not work. It is a complex project with many moving parts.
Fortunately all the other items are ready.

Remember the addresses are not locked and you can update it if needed.
Just go to your survey and change it if you moved or you are about to move.
